After 5 Failed Diets to lose weight, I’ve Finally Found the Solution!

I’d like to share two stories with you. The first explains my struggle with weight and diet, and the myriad crash diets to lose weight I’ve experimented with to try and lose weight, gain stamina, and improve my health. The second is more positive – an explanation of how, after ten years, I’ve finally found the solution.

Healthy DietsI’ve spent most of my adult life overweight. Despite being reasonably athletic back in college, I was never ‘fit’ in the traditional sense, and I’ve certainly never been skinny. After I left college and entered the corporate world, my figure went from something I didn’t mind seeing in the mirror to something I was ashamed of. I was putting on weight, and I had no idea why.

Well, I say that I had no idea, but when I look back today the facts and reasons are clear. I was eating a poor diet, and at the same time convincing myself that I wasn’t. I read through health food journals and dietary guides, noting down their advice and telling myself that it would help me lose weight. I’d log my calories, all the while ignoring what food sources they came from. In my desperate search for a weight loss answer, I ended up pushing myself even further away from a solution.

When you think you’re close to achieving something, you give it your all. I poured weeks of my life into finding the ideal weight loss solution – reading through magazines and articles, weight loss journals and ‘healthy living’ books – all to find the miracle solution that would work for me. After months of research and hard work, I thought I’d found a winner.

The basis of the diet, as you’d expect, was to eat more healthy foods and less high-fat foods. The diet recommended low-fat food products, an avoidance of quick sugars, and to increase my consumption of whole grains and starchy carbohydrates. It all looked very official, it was all scientifically backed, and it was exactly what I’d been looking for.

The results? I lost 2lbs in the first week, and then I put on twice that in the second. My mistakes seem so elementary now, but back then it was a confusing and difficult experience. I was following the instructions perfectly – why wasn’t I losing weight?

What I know now, and what I wish I’d known then, is that the traditional low-fat diet model isn’t the solution. For people that can totally hold off eating calorie-dense foods, it’s got potential, but for the vast majority of dieters it’s nothing but a scientifically ambitious dream. I was a victim of the supposedly healthy diets, and I was desperate for a solution that worked.

Over the next decade I experienced with almost every diet imaginable. I spent a week eating nothing but apples, a month drinking fruit shakes and diet drinks, and ran the recommended course of every diet supplement imaginable. Some weeks I lost weight and felt good about myself, others I gained it back, sometimes plus a little more.

Then I found something that worked for me. It was a simple healthy diets that completely distanced itself from the gimmicks I’d seen in other commercial diets. It wasn’t an impossible ’science’ diet that relied on outdated research and patently untrue weight loss myths, but a common sense approach that overturned a few major diet mysteries.

Diets to Lose WeightI’ve been following my new diet for three months now, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I’m not at my goal weight yet – although I’m getting close – and when I get there I can’t wait to show off my new figure. Instead of spending months chasing an impossible diet dream only to find myself heavier at the end of it all, I’m making steady progress towards a goal I’m very proud of.

I’ve seen a lot of similar diets to lose weight pop up recently – most likely imitators trying to capitalize on a diet program that actually works – and I want to make sure you can get the results I can. I don’t believe in keeping good things a secret – the world’s too small, and good products deserve recognition.

I’ve achieved my most recent weight loss by following The Diet Solution, and I couldn’t recommend it more.
