Best Way to Lose Abdominal Weight and Trim Your Belly

abs-male-femaleAlmost every man and woman dreams of attaining washboard abs, the kind sported by models, movie stars and Baywatch beauties.  A bulging pot belly that hangs out doesn’t looks really cool so the tips that I am going to share with you here today will help you trim your waistline.

First and foremost you must know that to lose abdominal weight you must not only rely on spot training or spot toning the problem area, in this case the tummy.  This may work that muscle group but it does not remove the fat from that area.

Unless you work out all portions of your body and lose weight uniformly from all parts, you won’t be able to shed your belly fat. The body isn’t configured to lose weight from only one portion of the body at a time, leaving aside the other parts.

If you want to lose the excess fat you have to be sensible with your eating habits.  Consuming more energy than you burn off isn’t going to help, so start watching what you eat and start skipping some of those naughty foods.  To lose weight for some isn’t easy, and if you need to shed more than 4 kilos then joining a weight management group or other like minded friends can keep you motivated.  It’s not easy, but it can be done so stay positive.

Among the best ways to strengthen, tone and lose abdominal weight, is by practicing Pilates. Some of the ideal Pilate exercises for flattening ugly paunches are, the roll up, the double straight legged stretch, the single straight legged stretch, and the one leg circle. Whatever level of fitness, from beginner to advance, Pilates is a great resource for you to lose weight and develop those dream abs.

crunchesAnother exercise you can perform, and one of the simplest if done correctly, is abdominal crunches. Some of the various crunches are, the basic crunch, chair leg lifts, standing trunk twists, pelvic thrusts, leg flutters, basic crunch twists and the reverse crunch. The abdominals respond extremely well to efficiently performed crunches.

Why don’t you get hold of a body twister or ab exerciser and practice various kinds of twisting exercises on it? These allow you to correctly perform the exercises, isolate the muscle group and maximize the workout.

Now that you have the toned the muscles you need to show them off.  Cardiovascular exercise (running, swimming, cycling etc) will help to burn off any surplus fat, which is the only way you will reveal your sleek, toned abs!
